CoMO is governed by a Council drawn from full members of the Confederation and provision is also made to co-opt non-members provided that they do not comprise a majority on the Governing Council.
Governing Council members are elected to membership of the Council at the Annual General Meeting of members of the Confederation. The position of any co-opted member of the Governing Council is also ratified by the membership of the Confederation at the Annual General Meeting.
Currently (2010) there are seven members sitting on the Council with representation from the three regions of CoMO. Council members are elected to serve for two years, after which they can be re-nominated to serve up to a maximum of eight years. The officers can only serve for a maximum of two terms in the same office.
The officers are President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer and are elected by the Governing Council from among their own members.
