What We Do
CoMO aims to amplify the voices of its members through advocacy and to help them to be sustainable and to work together in the fight against meningitis and septicaemia. It also offers help and advice to those who wish to form patient groups themselves or to join established organisations.
The objectives of the CoMO stated in its Rules of Association are
- To be a global force in advocating on issues which concern members in political, healthcare and civil society arenas, including raising awareness of signs and symptoms of meningitis and septicaemia and of vaccines to prevent these diseases.
- To encourage and facilitate communication with and between people at all levels, including members, potential members, partners, sponsors and key opinion formers in healthcare, government and the media on meningitis and septicaemia related issues
- To fight meningitis and septicaemia through initiatives which help member organisations to achieve their aims in their own countries.
- To increase the participation of those touched by meningitis and septicaemia, empowering them to develop meningitis-related patient groups, organisations and networks in countries where there are none.
