An organization may apply
for associate membership if it
meets the following criteria:
The organisation should be registered as a society or charitable organisation within the jurisdiction in which they are based. The organisation must have a legal status appropriate to its country of origin, with a written constitution and/or by-laws. If no appropriate legal status exists in the country of origin this criteria may be waived at the discretion of CoMO.
The organisation must be non-profit and non-governmental.
The member organisation may be an international, regional, national or local organisation, or an umbrella group.
The organisation can demonstrate that it has a governance structure.
The governance structure must be described and illustrated in a written letter or e-mail which should accompany the organisation's application.
The organization must have an interest in overcoming meningitis and septicaemia, which can be evidenced through its vision and mission, and must demonstrate its commitment to expand that interest to a significant focus such that it qualifies for full membership within two years of joining as an Associate Member.
An individual may apply for an
associate membership if he/she
meets the following criteria:
He/she can demonstrate an active involvement in relation to meningitis and be seeking to form a registered organization within two years of becoming an associate member.
